THE ABOVE PHOTO SHOWS OFFICER DARREN WILSON JUST AFTER HE SHOT MICHAEL BROWN. THIS PHOTOGRAPH ILLUSTRATES HOW NOT TO ACT WHEN CONFRONTED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT. ACCORDING TO DORIAN JOHNSON, THE FRIEND OF MICHAEL BROWN, THE TWO WERE WALKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHEN THEY WERE APPROACHED BY OFFICER DARREN WILSON. TECHNICALLY, UNDER MOST STATE LAWS THIS VIOLATES A NUMBER OF STATUTES INCLUDING: “WALKING IN A ROADWAY WHEN THERE IS AN ACCESSIBLE SIDEWALK”, “OBSTRUCTING TRAFFIC”, “JAYWALKING”, AND ON AND ON…EVEN IF THEY DID NOTHING ELSE WRONG THIS GAVE THE OFFICER PROBABLE CAUSE TO STOP AND CONFRONT, QUESTION, OR INTERVIEW THEM, (SEE MANIAC NANNY’S GUIDE ENTITLED “HOW TO HANDLE A LAW ENFORCEMENT FIELD INTERVIEW” FOR MORE INFORMATION. GENERALLY AN OFFICER IN THE UNITED STATES MUST HAVE PROBABLE CAUSE TO STOP AND INTERVIEW A CITIZEN BUT THERE IS SOME DISCRETION IF THE OFFICER DETERMINES THAT THE PERSON IS SUSPICIOUS. THAT WAS THEIR FIRST MISTAKE. ACCORDING TO JOHNSON, THEY STATED “WE ARE ALMOST HOME”, IGNORED THE ORDER AND CONTINUED WALKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THAT WAS THEIR SECOND MISTAKE. THE OFFICER’S INSTRUCTION IS A LAWFUL ORDER WHICH MEANS THAT BY IGNORING IT THEY VIOLATED U.S. LAW, THIS THEN GAVE THE OFFICER EVEN MORE AUTHORITY TO STOP THEM AND INVESTIGATE THEM FURTHER AND EVEN TO AFFECT AN ARREST. IN ADDITION, PSYCHOLOGICALLY, IT WAS AN AFFRONT TO THE OFFICER’S SELF – ESTEEM AND SENSE OF SELF – IMPORTANCE AND A PROVOCATION. FOR THOSE OF YOU WITHOUT COMMON SENSE, IT IS NEVER A GOOD IDEA TO PISS OFF SOMEONE WITH A 9MM HANDGUN WHO IS HEAVILY ARMED AND HAS WIDE DISCRETION GRANTED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO USE THOSE ARMS. ACCORDING TO JOHNSON, AND THIS IS JUST HEARSAY, THE OFFICER WAS DISRESPECTFUL AT FIRST AND TOLD THEM “GET THE FUCK ON THE SIDEWALK.” TO A YOUNG MAN THIS CAN MAKE YOU ANGRY AND HURT YOUR FEELINGS BUT IT IS BEST TO JUST IGNORE IT AND COMPLY WITH THE ORDER, THEN FILE A COMPLAINT LATER. THAT IS THE SMART THING TO DO. POLICE ARE EXPECTED TO ALWAYS USE RESTRAINT BUT YOU NEVER KNOW WHO YOU ARE DEALING WITH. THE OFFICER COULD BE ON STEROIDS OR OTHER DRUGS AND YOU JUST CANNOT ASSUME THAT THEY WILL BE IN CONTROL. IF YOU FEEL A NEED TO PROVE HOW HARD YOU ARE AND HOW MACHO YOU ARE AND HOW YOU DON’T TAKE ANY SHIT FROM ANYBODY, THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT THE ONES TO PRACTICE IT ON. MANY TIMES THEY CAN BEAT YOU OR KILL YOU AND THEY WILL GET AWAY WITH IT. OTHER OFFICERS WILL LIE AND BACK THEM UP AND YOU WILL LOSE. THE BEST RULE TO LIVE BY IS ALWAYS AVOID ANY INTERACTION WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT. BE SMART AND STUDY THE LAW SO THAT YOU KNOW YOUR RIGHTS. THERE ARE MANY ONLINE SOURCES THAT YOU CAN READ TO SHARPEN YOUR LEGAL SKILLS SO THAT YOU ARE PREPARED FOR ANY INTERACTION WITH THE POLICE. IF AN OFFICER VIOLATES YOUR RIGHTS THERE ARE CHANNELS LIKE INTERNAL AFFAIRS THAT YOU CAN GO THROUGH TO SEEK JUSTICE. THE BEST THING TO DO IS TO CARRY SOME TYPE OF HIDDEN CAMERA AND RECORD ANY INTERACTION BUT THE KEY WORD IS HIDDEN. NEVER LET THE OFFICER KNOW YOU ARE RECORDING BECAUSE THEY COULD CONFISCATE THE DEVICE. I KNOW IT IS HARD FOR YOU BUT TRY TO USE YOUR BRAIN AND NOT BE AN ASSHOLE LIKE I HAVE SEEN ON YOUTUBE WAVING A CAMERA IN AN OFFICER’S FACE BECAUSE THAT JUST SHOWS YOUR HAND. ALSO, STUDY THE LAW FOR YOUR PARTICULAR STATE BECAUSE EVERY STATE IS DIFFERENT.

“Amy is a champion who has proven throughout her life that she is a fighter who takes on challenges and comes out on top. We know Amy will tackle her rehabilitation with vigor and be back on her feet sooner rather than later,” it said. She grew up in Denver and became a world-class swimmer despite suffering from asthma as a child and into
