THE ABOVE PHOTOGRAPH SHOWS THE 2ND FLOOR HALLWAY OF NORRIS HALL AT VIRGINIA TECH UNIVERSITY. IT WAS HERE THAT THE MAJORITY OF THE SHOOTING SPREE OCCURRED. TWO OTHER STUDENTS WERE KILLED BY CHO AT WEST AMBLER JOHNSTON HALL, A DORMITORY.
THIS IS NORRIS HALL. JUST BEFORE THE START OF HIS MASSACRE, CHO HAD USED CHAINS THAT HE BOUGHT AT HOME DEPOT TO CHAIN THE THREE ENTRANCE DOORS SHUT FROM THE INSIDE. CHO HAD PLANNED ALL OF THIS OUT AND WENT ON TRIAL RUNS IN THE WEEKS LEADING UP TO APRIL 16TH. HE ALSO WROTE A NOTE WHICH HE ATTACHED TO THE DOORS STATING THAT A BOMB WOULD EXPLODE IF THE DOORS WERE OPENED.
BOMB THREAT WRITTEN BY SEUNG-HUI CHO
Kunming Railway Station, Yunnan province of China — Chinese officials said a group of men, apparently well organized have attacked a railway station killing at least 28 and wounding 116. In communist China, guns are illegal so there was no way for any of these people to put up a defense. Unlike in the United States where one well armed citizen with a concealed handgun could have prevented this bloodshed. A knife attack can be very quick and very deadly if the attacker happens to hit any of a number of vital areas. Any deep cut to a major artery such as the carotid artery in the neck area or the femoral artery in the upper leg region will quickly cause the victim to bleed to death unless a tourniquet is applied. Arteries carry oxygenated blood under high pressure from the heart whereas veins are carrying blood in it’s dexoy form back from the extremities so a cut to a vein is less dangerous than an artery. A cut to an artery will cause blood to shoot out forcefully whereas a cut to a vein will cause blood to flow out more slowly. IF you ever come across a person who has been stuck with a knife and the knife is still protruding from them DO NOT remove the knife ever. It may have severed an artery and may be the only thing holding the severed artery closed. Always leave the knife in them until they get to an emergency room.
